01

PROBLEM

CONTEXT

Xsystor was rebranding, and the website needed a new look.

Xsystor, an electrical component engineering startup company based in CA, recently underwent a visual rebrand. My team and I were tasked with designing and developing a new website that aligns with the company's goals and keeps pace with market competitors.

THE PROBLEM

The previous website was outdated, inconsistent, and difficult to navigate— which stunted the company's potential.

Because Xsystor handles 100% of product orders and inquiries online, the owner needed a site that establishes credibility, boosts engagement, and streamlines navigation at immediate glance. With the current state of the website, he was afraid that customers would click away or lose interest.

02

RESEARCH

STAKEHOLDER REQUIREMENTS

The owner and I analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of the existing website to determine project goals & requirements.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

Next, we researched other electrical component e-commerce companies to understand the current market space.

KEY TAKEAWAY

💡 Let's streamline navigation and modernize the visuals.

Confusing page-to-page navigation, complicated information hierarchy, and outdated visuals were the largest pain points identified in stakeholder and market research. To combat this problem, we need to reevaluate user flows and update brand guidelines to boost customer interest.

03

DESIGN

MID-FIDELITY WIREFRAME

The goal: establish distinct sections, enhance layout, and integrate an intuitive hierarchy of information.

BRAND GUIDELINES

Our new look? Clean, bold, and futuristic.

We chose clean Sans fonts and dark, bold colors to prioritize contrast and convey a "high-tech" vibe.

04

RESULTS

THE BEFORE

Busy, cluttered, and disorganized.

THE AFTER

Sleek, modernistic, and optimized for customer satisfaction.

LESSONS LEARNED

Client-to-designer communication is crucial!

Being open with your client about your design ideas, goals, and creative impulses is most important when working with stakeholders that are directly affected by your work. Be receptive to criticism, flexible in your work ethic, and open to new ideas and experiments.
